1:03 pm - LITTLE ICEBERG

citizenpuppet

Local indie/punk band with piano-laden songs about everything from particle physics to drunken phone calls to your ex. We released our first self-titled EP last year and on July 2nd, we'll have a batch of new songs, entitled "Celebrity Crush." This fall, we're releasing our first full-length, "Signals." We have a bunch of local summer shows coming up, so check out our stuff and maybe we'll see you at one.

Thanks!

8:11 am - O'Death: Old-Tyme Punk Rock

my_way
o'death is playing at mohawk place this wednesday nov. 5th.. these guys are amazing live and very well-loved in new york city.

New York outfit O’Death’s third LP, Broken Hymns, Limbs and Skin, feels like a giddy junkyard hoedown, from the panicked fiddle screeches of opener “Lowtide” to the celebratory gallop of closer “Lean-To.” At times it sounds morose or contemplative, but underneath the melancholy is a gospel fervor—bashed from paint buckets, banjos, guitars and anything else in kicking distance—that defines their sound.

you can hear a couple of tracks from when they were on the philly npr station last week behind the cut, plus a video..

3:04 pm - Hope someone reads this. :P

iateyourface
me and a friend are leaving for the states in 10 days. and we might need a place to crash in buffalo when we get across the border. plus it might help with getting across if we can actually tell them some place where we'll be staying. it would only be 1 night if anything.

thanks!

9:30 pm - Moms Music Drum Shop Give Away!

eller
We're doing a give away at Moms Music here in Louisville Ky. This is open to residents of the US, even alaska and that other state. :) From being in punk bands and playing DIY shows for the past years of my life I know how hard it is to save up funds to buy new equipment so I thought I'd post this to the community for interested parties although I live out of state.

This is a mom and pop Music Store here in Louisville Ky. I've worked there for nearly a year and it's an awesome place so feel safe entering this contest. I'm excited to see the entries and I get to help pick the winner so it's fun for everyone. :)

You get FOR FREE, no strings attached ...

-Gretsch Catalina Club Mod Drum Kit
-padded gig bags for all the drums
-Zildjian A custom cymbals (hats, crash, ride)
-Vater Drumsticks, 36 pairs with your name engraved on them!
-practice pad from Vater
-Vaters multi stick holder, drum kit drink holder, Vater t-shirt, 2 pair of Vater Splash Sticks!

You get all this for free, no tax, no shipping if we have to mail it to you or anything. FREE!

All You have to do it sign up and submit a photo of yourself with your current kit holding some sort of sign that says something along the lines of "I love the drum shop at Moms Music!".
You can do all this online. The winner will be judged based on the creativity of their photo.

No photoshopping, vulgar language, or nudity please.

Sign up through the link on our MySpace Page

Werd. Good luck!

I don't care if you listen to indie rock, hardcore, "pop punk" or punk rock.
The odd's of you liking and listening to LIFETIME at some point in your life, Or just hearing them a few times and liking what you heard are very likely. They are only playing select east coast shows. Thankfully buffalo is one of them.

2:25 am - Horror Movie Screening at Buffalo Central Terminal

xiceninex
On June 23rd at 6pm EST, Red Scream Films LLC, in association with The Central Terminal Restoration Corporation, Buffalo Nickel Productions, Sound Video Solutions, Fright World and The Voodoo Dollies will present a sneak peek screening of the feature film Prison of the Psychotic Damned to Benefit the Buffalo Central Terminal restoration efforts.

Prison of the Psychotic Damned is the first feature film by Buffalo based production company Red Scream Films LLC. This suspense-horror film is about five ghost hunters who come to the Terminal to investigate whether or not it really deserves its reputation as one of the most haunted places in the world. When the sun sets they find the terrifying answer.

Prison of the Psychotic Damned was shot on location in the Western New York area with the majority of the film shot inside the Buffalo Central Train Terminal. The film was directed and edited by D.W. Kann from a screenplay by Red Scream Films LLC CEO David R Williams who also produced. Plans call for several of the film’s cast, including stars Melantha Blackthorne and Demona Bast, to attend. They will answer questions about the film and sign autographs.

“This will be a unique film experience,” said Williams, “The audience will not only be the first audience to get to see this film outside a small group of production people, but they will also get the opportunity to watch the film where it was shot.”

Built in 1929, the Central Terminal is a massive art deco masterpiece that time, weather, uncaring owners, and vandals have not been kind to.

“The purpose of this event is not to promote our film,” said Williams, “The purpose is to help restore the Buffalo Central Terminal. We were shooting here for a full nine days and everybody, cast and crew alike, fell in love with the place and by the end of the shoot, nobody wanted to leave. This is our way of giving something back and hopefully generating publicity for the terminal and the efforts of the CTRC to save it.”

Digital Projection equipment is being provided by Sound Video Solutions. punk girl-band The Voodoo Dollies will perform the opening credits song “Suffer Cake” as well as several other numbers. Special BCT copies of the film will be available for purchase.

Where: THE BUFFALO CENTRAL TERMINAL!
Date and Time: June 23rd, 2006…Doors open at 6pm.
Digital Production Services by Sound Video Solutions.
Tickets: $5 at the door.
The Buffalo Central Train Terminal is Located at 495 Paderewski Drive in Buffalo, NY.

WARNING! Prison of the Psychotic Damned has not been rated. It features nudity, violence, gore fx and scenes of extreme terror. No one under 21 admitted.
